Because of this, many resort to several methods of “escape” through suicide. For example, a young man named Tyler Clementi jumped off of the George Washington Bridge and took his own life all because his roommate in college posted a secretly recorded sexual encounter between Clementi and another man. Even after Tyler sought help, he received nearly none, as another video was posted, throwing Clementi over the edge quite literally (Brown 48). Further effects can even be an indirect result. If a parent becomes suspicious of a child’s behavior online or is concerned he or she is indeed being cyberbullied, they will more than likely not confront the child. Most times the parent(s) will create a fake profile and monitor or try to befriend his or her/their child instead of trying to directly solve the issue through a face-to-face confrontation. Alterations in moods, anti-social behavior, displeasure in going to school, and being significantly upset shortly after being online are all common symptoms of those that are prey (Parks 6). However, just because the symptoms are simple enough to be understood does not mean that it is just as easy to diagnose someone being cyberbullied. It is much harder, as many hunted so often by cyberbullies do not seek help. This is because they are feeling as though they are beyond help, being threatened, or are scared or prideful. This is never true. No one is ever past help. No matter what, there is always a way to fix the pain the victim
