The Dangers In Charley's Fear Of War

There are many more dangers faced than just battles and wars than being under enemy fire. One of the most reasonable or common that happens behind wars is fear and i did a little research and found out that being fearful in battle or any war is most common due to the stress of thinking that there's a chance that you will die or even lose one of your good friends in the battles. That’s not the only reason people become fearful though. When Charley went into the war he was at a young age and the things that he feared will end up fearing him for the rest of his life because it was just not for anyone his age to experience anything like that. He thought that going to war would prove to his family that he was a man and he could take care of them since their father had died.He was very horrified by the fact that he had to kill the horses because they were starving to death and he didn't want to kill any horses. They also were afraid of getting sick because in the winter they had to stay in huts that would keep them warm but there was so many people crammed up in huts that if one got sick and it spread around then many other people would get sick to. Now a days we had cures for throat infections which they got in the winter and didn't have a cure for it and it became deadly and spread through the air. They also got frostbite because of the winter being so cold it would freeze them to death or they would lose some of their limbs. …show more content…
