So, is it easier to conform or rebel? Are you weak if u conform? or are you strong if you
rebel? A better question should be can you deal with the consequences behind rebelling or
conforming. Conformity is the act of matching beliefs, behaviors and attitudes to group norms.
Rebellion in an act of violent or open resistance to an established government or ruler. At the
expense of hundreds of thousands of people conformity has either caused havoc upon one’s

In this movie Chris Mccandless is portrayed to be the
impeccable son who lived up to his parents expectations up until graduating college. His
parents hoped for him to attend grad school to further his education mind you, Chris received
remarkable grades and had a college fund set aside for him as well but Chris had completely
different plans for the next couple years of his life. Chris had everything he could ever imagine
but he wasn’t attracted to material things in life. Chris set out on a voyage to figure out how life
can be without civilization. Chris yearned to learn and experience something deeper out of life
by stating “When you want something in life, you just gotta reach out and grab it.” And that he
did. Was Chris a Rebel because he had enough of conformity or was he insane for taking such a
risk to find his inner self in the wild? During the movie Chris witnessed his parents contest often
and accuse each other for the complications the family had at home, could this mental scar
have had something to do with Chris’ yearning desire to rebel against his parents
