It was during the reign of Emperor Yao when The Great Flood started. It was a flood so vast that no part of Yao's terroity was spared, and even the imperial palace was flooded. This flood was a long flood, lasting for weeks on end. Towards the end of the first week of flooding Emperor Yao began to seek someone who could stop the flood. He turned to his four advisor for help. These advisor were known as the Sìyuè (The Four Mountains) and were considered the wisest in the land. After some deliberation, the four advisors told Emperor Yao to assign Gun, the prince of Chang, to the task. The Emperor was hesitant at first because he was worried that Gun would try to steal his power. He offered up many different options, but the advisor were adamant. In the end, Emperor Yao assigned Gun to the task. Gun tried very hard to fix the flood, but after nine years of effort
