According to the State Ratification 1 map, the relationship between the physical geography of Massachusetts and support within the state to ratify the Constitution is that in Massachusetts the delegates supported the the ratification of the constitution. The map shows that there is a evenly division of states where somes states support ratification others oppose. The Proclamation Line of 1763 separated the states which forbade all settlement past the line along the Appalachian Mountains. Also, the Province of Massachusetts Bay was formed in 1691. Massachusetts is surrounded by many rivers such as the Connecticut River. Also, the state is open to water resources and trade where the Atlantic Ocean is nearby. According to the Revolutionary War in the South 1778-1781, three battles fought in the colonies south of Virginia during the War of Independence were Guilford Courthouse (March 15, 1781) and Yorktown (Aug 30-Oct 19, 1781), Battle of the Virginia Capes (French and American Victory Sept 5-9, 1781). The Guilford Courthouse battle occurred on March 15, 1781 this battle occurred in the beginning of 1781 where there was British victory even though there were American troop movements involved in the battle. The Yorktown battle occurred through August 30-October 19 1781 this shows that the battle was very long and competitive where it occurred for two months and the battle led to American victory while British troop movements were involved. For the Battle of Virginia Capes the timing of the battle resulted after the end of the American Revolutionary War which ended in September 3, 1783 where there was victory for the French and Americans. The battle continued for four days which shows the competition between the Americans and the British. The de Grasse, 1781 French fleet led to the victory of the Americans. These battles that occurred during the time period of the War of Independence (1775-1783) greatly affected the actions of the British and the Americans which have showed the conflict between Great Britain and the thirteen North American colonies so that each state can be free and independent in the United
