"To be half Peter and half Valentine.” ” (Card 24). The novel Enders Game by Orson Scott Card tells the story of a young boy, Ender Wiggin, who is believed to be the only person capable of saving the human race. As the book progresses, the characterization of not only Ender, but also his siblings Peter and Valentine, are very thoroughly developed. The complete reason Ender’s parents were requisitioned to have another child was the hope that he would be the perfect mix of his siblings; not overly aggressive like Peter, but also not exceedingly compassionate like Valentine. Ender’s Game Adaptation Movie Review Gavin Hood’s Adaptation of Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game is an adventurous thrill ride. Ender Wiggin played by Asa Butterfield, is a third that was not really appreciated for being the third child in his family, a third that ended up being a successful recruit for the Battle School, where Ender is being pushed to his breaking point with all of the lies they are feeding him. It seems this movie took a lot of time and effort to create, with all of the scenes and technology upgrades. This movie is a good adaptation to the book because it brings all of the action moments in the book to the screen.…

Most referred to as Ender instead of his first name, he learns that in order to survive according to the government, he needs to sacrifice his life and family for Battle School. Throughout the book, Ender considers himself a ruthless killer that will turn into his older brother, Peter. In Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, Andrew Ender Wiggin fulfills the apocalyptical hero archetype because he faces the possibility of Earth going to war unless he sacrifices his innocence. Ender Wiggin: The Innocent Weapon In Ender’s Game, by Orson Scott Card, Ender is a very controversial character. Many people believe that he is a killer with a violent spirit, and that he meant to commit genocide, while I disagree. I believe that Ender has an innocent spirit, a friendly conscience, and was repeatedly used as a weapon. He was provoked when fighting Stilson and Bonzo, was constantly controlled by the adults, and did not have the intent of genocide on the buggers.…

In the book Ender’s Game, the author, Orson Scott Card, had some special meaning by using Ender Wiggin as the protagonist. In the book, it said, “He’s such a very little boy” (255). Using a kid that is only 6 years old as a protagonist while the whole book is about humanity facing a huge trouble of almost being wiped out by the formics. This shows that kids, though being smaller, his thoughts and emotions are just as complex as a grown up. Ender is said to be a mix of Peter and Valentine, his intelligence incredible.…

I personally agree with what Graff has to say about individual humans are just tools humanity uses to overcome an obstacle. Though Ender wasn’t that "used" to the point he refuses to save humanity anymore, the way the officials handled him was as a handyman with his saw. They didn’t think of Ender’s own feelings, as they used many tactics to bring the monster out of him, leaving no mercy to his enemies as a result. It was effective, but very crucial to the child.…
