I decided to give my little cousin some shoes that he had said he liked as a surprise for his birthday. So I got dressed put the shoes in a box and was on my way out. My mom had advised me previously that having the shoe box out there for everyone to see was a bad idea as it may very well tempt somebody to take them from me especially as I entered the ghetto. Needless to say I should have thought critically and used my knowledge of the danger to disguise them, but I didn't and that is why I am here writing this essay. I went downstairs and called a taxi over, I thought I was in the clear as soon as I entered the taxi. The problem had resurrected when the driver had let me know that he was not allowed to go into the neighborhood as the street is one way. Sweat ran down my hands and back asI was forced to walk 3 blocks down with a flashy box in hand. I felt the staring on my back through the first block and sure enough as predicted by my mother someone pulled a knife on me 2 blocks in and demanded the box. My mind drew blank I was shocked. I was proposed with a challenge risk my life to make someone's day or just give the shoes over. I knew all the possible outcomes if I declined to give in, but as a firm believer in God I knew
