Life is a beautiful thing. This is further reinforced by “The Century Quilt” as it uses its tone, structure, and imagery to achieve this to be its message to the reader. Warnicke’s use of literacy elements throughout the poem also does this. The poem is about an old man or woman reflecting on the long life they had lived. Throughout the piece, the author also seems to have a very dreamy and happy tone. This is further backed up by the vocabulary used, emphasizing the dreams of the speaker and their relatives over and over.
