1. Central Focus
a. Describe the central focus and purpose of the content you will teach in the learning segment.
[ The central focus of the learning segment is the students will execute the proper form of the 4 compound movements, squatting, deadlifting, bench-pressing, and the shoulder press. The students will learn different cues and critical elements to help them perform these certain weight lifting skills safely and properly. The students are working on using the proper form for these skills to prevent injury and build strength properly. The students are assessing each other for the critical elements which relates to movement patterns because they are looking for ways to correct their peers movements. Once they are able to understand what the correct movement pattern should look like for bench pressing and deadlifting, it can help them in their own movement. Once the students are able to display 3 out of the 4 critical elements for the two skills I know that they have developed the competence in the psychomotor objective. The affective objective for lesson two is the students will discuss with their partners the critical elements they are not displaying. This objective was written to meet the standard, uses communication skills and strategies that promote team or group dynamics. The students will be practicing finding errors and then communicating those errors to their peers to improve their movement
