Within the borders of the United States, poverty is widespread. Overtime the gap between the rich and the poor has steadily increased with a flow of those going into and out of poverty. Places throughout the US have different causes to their poverty levels, and they share similarities when defining poverty as a whole. Poverty is when someone reaches a low socioeconomic status and is unable to pay for their basic needs. The culture of a community and the available resources are attributing factors for the constant cycle of people entering and exiting poverty.
