Having a healthy diet that is high in both calcium and vitamin D while working out or exercising are preventions and also treatments of osteoporosis. Surgery is really just a treatment that fixes or repairs a fracture that was caused by osteoporosis. There is not a surgery that actually gets rid of osteoporosis or cures it.
