The four different symbolisms that I found in the story were, first of all, Fortunato's name. His name means fortunate which is ironic since he ended up being in a very unfortunate situation. He felt that good fortune had come to him through his old friend Montresor by the offer of the fine wine. Instead, he was lured to a most unfortunate ending. Montresor's name means Treasure.
