The Black Plague is probably one of the most destructive events to swipe the continent of Europe. With mass devastation, it hit cities all throughout Europe like a brick wall. Over half of Europe’s population contracted the plague and died from it, all over the course of five years. Many rumors began on how the plague started. Some examples being: it was being transmitted through fleas on rats (due to trade), some say it was carried through mosquitoes, and some say it was god punishing them. With people, constantly being surrounded by death and the idea of death, grieving and church rituals were a thing of the past.
