Research has shown that the hormones in the pills and in other forms of birth control can raise the hormones in blood serum of women who use contraceptives. Also, the rate of breast cancer in women raise with the hormones in the body from taking the birth control (Sherburne). Contraceptives help protect from pregnancy and helps women have regular periods and helps with medical reasons.
