Bad Seed
The Bad Seed was performed at Crowder College Theatre on October, 20th at 7:30 p.m...The play starts out in the Col. and Mrs. Penmark’s apartment in the suburb of a Southern City. In the first scene of the play the characters that first appear are Rhoda, Christine, Kenneth, Monica, Emory, and Miss Fern. At the beginning of this play the father (Kenneth) is getting ready to leave and the mother (Christine) and the daughter (Rhoda) are saying their goodbyes, when the landlady and her brother come to the door. I went to this play not knowing at all what it was about, I assumed it was about a little girl because of the flyers that I have seen all over campus, but I had no idea that she would turn out to be a murderer.

Some of the characters forgot their lines but quickly recovered and were able to fix their mess up very smoothly. One thing that I noticed was that when Tasker forgot his lines he would start to mumble and then I couldn’t understand what he was saying. Although that is not what acting is all about I think that his part was believable. I think that his gestures and mannerisms fit his character very well. I also think that his voice patterns fit his character very well. I think that the three best actor’s in this play were Rhoda(Juliet McGowan) , Christine(Kristen Stremel) and Leroy(Justin Bowman), the reason I say this is because it was very hard to pick out any parts that they messed up on, if they did at all. I think that they were trying to tell you that even the sweetest and most innocent people can be something that you would never expect them to …show more content…
I also noticed that whenever the mother (Christine) would read to Rhoda at night she would just put a robe over her cloths and you could tell that she still had them on and she also kept her shoes on.
I think that the music played when they were switching to a new scene and when it was intermission really fit the play because it sounded mysterious. I think that the lighting was good; I especially liked it when they put a spot light on Rhoda at the end and she smiled that mischievous and evil smile.
The scenery was setup very well; the apartment was set up nicely. I think that everything looked like it was in the era that it was supposed to be in. The scenery was good for every scene because that is where the play takes place. The scenery looked a little old timie so it fit very well into the play.
I think that almost all of the production elements were good and had an overall effectiveness; it is understandable that you could not have everything just perfect because that would cost a lot of money. One thing that I noticed about the play was that it was a little drawn out; because of those points in the play I would start to lose interest in watching the

The costumes indicated the theme brilliantly, with various bright and prominent colours, which had me unable to take my eyes off of them. The costume creator and seamstress, Mrs. B Hawlik and Ms. D Knight, unquestionable planned how they were able to transform characters instantly and efficiently. I thought the set of the scene had a superb use of props and of the stage presented the setting of the story adequately from being on a ship to the jungle and later to an island, the stage was truly amazing. The lighting played an important part, of directing the audience to where to look and gracefully hitting the characters with perfect timing. The multiple lighting colours certainly set the mood the well and scenes were easily seen to be in the past as a remembrance and contrasted from the present.…

On October 28, 2017, I attended Desert Hot Springs High School’s theatrical performance, Love Sick, a play produced by John Cariani. Mr. Landmann is the head director of the theater department at DHSHS and was able to execute a great show with the help of his students: Matilde Alejandro, Megan Johnson, Bethany Navarro, Luis Salazar, Nathaniel Esparza, Natalia Martinez, Angel Limas, Esmeralda Hernandez, Esmeralda Salazar, Nicholas Jacob Gamboa, Baylee Bryant, Jonathan Calderon, Erika Aleman, Jesus Hernandez, Austin Aguirre, Edna Escobedo, Anjali Singh, Angel Ramirez, Elijah Cross, Michelle Lopez, Alondra Campos, Sadie Cunningham, Joseph Arisco, Maya Souza, Efrain Flores, Kimberly Solano, and Zauriah Cotton. Love/Sick is a play that contains lovers and dreamers that look into the agony and the happiness that comes with being in love and in relationships. To begin with, the plot of the play was very straightforward and unmissable. It outlined all the effects, good and bad, that comes with being in a relationship as well as depicting all the dilemmas.…

This play was one of the longest plays I had ever sat in on, but it didn’t feel like it. The characters and the story kept making me want more. It was that good! This play, however, did provide more than just entertainment. It provided a sense of wonder, wonder about the lives of the characters, what they felt, what they thought, and what they did.…

All the actors seemed very professional and owned the characters they were playing. There was just something about Abele that caught my eye. For instance, every time Brittany Caldwell (Molly in The Gnädiges Fräulein) asked Abele to rock with her in the rocking chair she did not hesitate and went overboard. She exaggerated the movement and moaning to an extent that made you laugh because she was not scared to make a fool of herself. In addition, she had her own excerpt in the begging of the scene that really set the tone.…

Kimberly Belflower is an original playwright as she shows her dark thoughts through her two main characters. With its great use of imagination, the lights, costumes, and background music do a great job of portraying its wildness; however, the script itself needs more background and smoother transitions. As an audience member it was great seeing the great work and thought that was put into the play. Overall, the play has the potential to be something great, it just needs works. Works…

The first aspect I want to talk about is the acting. The casting was perfect and the overall acting ability of the cast was good. There was however on cast member who I believe stood out, that was actor who played Mrs. Gorf and others. He was able to play several different characters in one play which was really impressive to me. I can also imagine that it was a hard choice for the casting director…

A Christmas Carol play review On December First 2015 I saw A Christmas Carol the play at the Trinity Repetory Company. In Providence Rhode Island at 10:30 AM. I thought the opening scene was very explanatory, because they read the introduction of the book. This was exploratory because they are telling us who Marley was and how he had died seven years ago. I thought the special effects in the play were magnificent .One of the special effects that I thought was very impressive was when they projected Marley’s face onto the stage, this was impressive because it made it look like that Marley’s face was really there.…

The play fresh acts had a lot of good acting within the show. Although they all stood behind music stands for the duration of the play, the actors were still able to perform the scenes well by emphasizing certain words and performing certain actions. It was also interesting to see these actors apply tactics to pursue their objectives. In fact, most if not all of the acting that was in this play could be seen by each actor pursuing an objective using certain tactics.…

I was pleasantly surprised at how enjoyable and funny the play actually was. The cast was very animated and absolutely adorable! The stage was small and the audience was close around the stage which added to the enjoyment of the performance. The props and costumes seemed to be from the 1940’s and well placed around the stage. The hidden doors that actually swung open and closed were fabulous and was used perfectly with the story.…
