Our group had an efficient interview with Busy Bee babysitter organization last week. We were meeting on campus last Tuesday afternoon, and we decided to interview both manager and employee to comprehensive understanding of the organization's operating conditions and communication. We established our team’s goal for this interview was to basically get more background information and to get a better idea how they operate. Mariana and I were responsible for interviewing the manager of Busy Bee, other team members were going to interview some Mariana’s colleagues. We came up more than 20 questions for manager and staff respectively.…
After reading the Baby X document as well as watching the TedX I really thought about how much my family’s lives have revolved around gender roles. Growing up I was raised as a normal female child would be. My mother had me playing with Barbie dolls, baking, playing dress up, and of course I loved the color pink as it was in most of the items of clothing I wear. My brothers on the other hand both grew up playing legos, and their room has always been painted blue. When we were younger they both were placed into sports such as lacrosse, basketball, and soccer; while I played tennis and did swim team, sports which seem daintier, definitely less contact involved.…
Ah, the holidays; the most wonderful time of the year. A great time to be with family and friends. We all are lucky to be with our families, and be blessed and thankful for them, but there are some who are not lucky enough to have anything. That’s when the toy drives come in! For years, toy drives have been providing toys and games for children who possess less than others.…
Last summer I began babysitting for a couple that I have never met before, which was very nerve wracking meeting them at first, thankfully I got the privilege of taking care of two sweet kids. This was a very fun summer, we went to their grandparents pool, played football in the front yard, and on rainy days I would play videogames with Jacob and do whatever crazy things Molly had come up with. Babysitting has definitely taught me many different things such as how to take care of and watch children like a hawk, how to discipline them by teaching them the right things to do, and how to be creative by finding different things to do. Watching Molly like a hawk is a necessity because she is very reckless and likes to “explore” which means climb…
What is a child’s most overwhelming fear? Is it slithering snakes whose bite can cause immense pain, unbearable misery, and heart sickening death or is it the vile monsters that lurk hidden in the dark shadows surrounding them in night? Whatever they may think their greatest fear is, in the end the greatest fear of all children is leaving safety, comfort, the things know well to them, home. They no longer are able to depend and rely on their parents for protection and provision. This time is both saddening, challenging, and in some cases distressing, but is also an extremely important, life changing, and exhilarating experience.…
We all may wonder what's one of the major key sense our baby sense, one of them is our touch. By you touching your newborn baby it's a vital role that helps you and your baby have that mother and son or mother and daughter bond. Touching your baby also helps you to communicate by he or she letting you know their wants and needs. Also by interacting with people and being able to explore it's surrounding. This sense of touch beings to happen as your early 7 to 8 weeks of pregnancy(Berger).…
Caring for my RealCare Baby was exceedingly difficult. The RealCare Baby could not be soothed by your voice, like a real infant. The RealCare Baby did not have a regular routine like an infant would. With a real baby, you cannot feed it four times within 40 minutes. If someone does this, their baby will gain excess weight and could cause it future eating habits.…
All of the problems he faced in the story can be explained by psychology. He did not sleep enough so he suffered all of the effects of sleep deprivation. Decreased Performance and Alertness, Memory and Cognitive Impairment, Stress Relationships, Poor Quality of Life, Occupational Injury. And that is just in the short term. It can be debated that the fever that ended his life was because of the long term effects sleep deprivation has on the body and the…
In today’s fast-paced society, people are always on the go and they don’t want to be slowed down by anything. For parents, this sometimes means that if they both want to work and have children, they’re probably going to need a bit of help if they don’t want to become overloaded with responsibilities. This is where babysitters and/or nannies come in; ready to take on some of the responsibility of caring for the children, which can relieve an immense amount of work and stress from both parents. Although nannies can be extremely helpful, there are a still number of reasons why nannies might create issues within the family. Nannies can seem like a blessing in many ways to parents that are welcoming a new child into their family.…
had the pleasure of observing six four-year-old children at their childcare. I must say it was the most amazing feeling anyone can experience. The time spent on observing children within this age group gave me a firsthand experience on how they develop physically, social/emotionally, cognitively, and how well their language and literacy develops and mature with age. Physical Development The growth of a young child’s physical abilities is truly amazing.…
A babysitter was arrested after allegedly driving kids around while drunk in South Providence. Rhode Island State Police said troopers spotted 21-year-old Phyllis Lee Coates speeding and going through several stop signs around 1 a.m. Friday. Parent-baby bonding is by far one of the most important actions needed in order for newborns to develop a trusting relationship and lifelong attachment to their parents. Babies who are given a significant amount of attention to within the first four to six months of their life are guaranteed to be more confident and ensured as toddlers and older children. For some parents, this bonding event takes place within the first few days of birth; it’s proven to be easier for moms to form this connection compared to most fathers. There’s a communication system in which unborn babies become familiar with while in their mother’s womb; even after birth it’s showcased in the way babies respond to their mothers when it comes to smell, touch, and voice. Newborns…
The baby friendly initiative is a global program started in 1991 by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF focused on improving the role of maternity services to encourage mothers to breastfeed to help babies get the best start in life. These health agencies recommend that babies are breastfed exclusively for their first six months of life. The primary goal is to improve prenatal care of mothers, mother/baby care after delivery, and provide services and care that promote and support breastfeeding. In this paper I will address the criteria needed for accreditation, the four targets of the Innocenti Declaration, and give an overview of the program since it began.…
With all the home projects completed upstairs, construction began on the two bedrooms in the basement that would house all five girls. Max and Hanna had to make numerous trips to the department and hardware stores to purchase home furnishings and building materials. On occasion, they took all seven children, making them wait in the car while they shopped. Other times, a sitter was hired to tend to this rambunctious bunch.…
