A nice man at the train station told him to go to the Bell and Dragon a couple blocks away. As he was walking down the street a bed and breakfast caught his eye. He rang the bell and this nice old women open the door super quick. She invited him in and show him to his room. “ ‘We have it all to ourselves,’ she said smiling at him over her shoulder as she led the way upstairs.” The bed was already made for him to just crawl in and with a warm water bottle to keep him warm at night. After he got settled, he went downstairs to the living room to sign the book on the piano and the landlady was waiting for him with a cup of tea. Billy looked a the book. Only two names but haven’t I seen these names before. Billy noticed the dates. “This last entry is over two years old.” As he was thinking about the names, he realized that the bird and the dog were stuffed perfectly and just laying there. In Number 8, the author gives the reader hints and clues that something big is going to happen. A young man was hitchhiking with this other man with brown hair. As they were in the car riding along, they were listening to the cop radio, talking about a serial killer. They stopped at a gas station with a phone. The driver asked the boy if he wanted to use the phone in a last time kind of way. After the gas station, the boy realized that he was going to be the eighth kill.
