According to U.S labs, up to 100 million animals die each year due to animal experimentation in the lab?

Animal experimentation is helping the understanding of diseases and new surgical techniques on both human and animals. Animal experimentation also helps the understanding of the correct medicine to use for any specific sickness they might have.

Animal experimentations are very harmful the the animal body and is very cruel. Animals both small and large are taken away from their natural environment and is kept in a small captive cage for the remainder of their lifetime, even if they do survive the test they will still have to remain captive.

The first reason animal experimentation is wrong is, according to Cruelty Free International,

According to Cruelty Free International over 1000 stroke treatments that was successful during the animal testing, whereas only 10% were used in human trials. Unfortunately none sufficiently worked well in the human’s body. Also while using mice and rats to test safety drugs they only worked about 43% of the time, when only when tested on humans 95% of the medicine failed during human tests despite the correct outcome of the animals.

The third reason why animal testing is wrong is, the animals weren't doing anything harmful to be going through such cruel tests. According to Peta, before going through any tests each animal will have to breathe in toxic fumes, others would have to be immobilized in restraint devices sometimes for hours at a time. Also some animals will have holes drilled through their skulls, and others will have their skin burned off and spinal cords crushed. Another reason why animal experimentation is wrong is because, the animals are taken away from their natural habitat and socially isolated from the outside

According to About Animal Testing, by testing the medicine on animals before humans is the safe way to go, but the animal and human body does react quite different. The reaction from the drug or medicine may be unreliable by having the animal in such a different environment. They may be under quite a lot of stress. Therefore by the animal being under stress, and having a human take the drug he or she could have a different reaction to the medicine in their natural state.

In conclusion animal testing is wrong due to animals being held captive, and intentionally being starved to possibly death for a treatment that might not work. Why animal testing is so important is because, most tests can mostly be unreliable to the human body next to the animal’s way of coping with different drugs. Most tests can be unreliable due to animals not being able to have most foods that humans can have, foods like, chocolate, grapes, raisins and many other foods. In addition, animal testing is cruel due to be taken away from habitat and being isolated from the natural

This provides reasonable arguments against animal experiments and abuse. PETA. " Animals Used For Experimentation."…

It has been proven that scientist use about 100 million animals for testing and research each year. From personal research, I have seen many inhumane things happen to these creatures that should not happen.…

One of the big controversy of animal testing is that it is believed to be cruel and inhumane. It is widely known that there have been experiments with animal subjects where animals have been harmed and mistreated to the point of death, and highlighted the need for some sort of protection of animals, which came in the form of the federal Animal Welfare Act (AWA), but 95% of the animals that are being tested are not protected under the AWA, such as, birds, mice ,and rats who are bred for research, according to http://animal-testing.procon.org/. Another big point of controversy is that there have been cases where they do not show a side-effect that could be seen in a human consumer or they do not actually work on humans, when it is thought to have found a cure. For example, the drugs thalidomide and Vioxx, with the latter causing 27,000 cases of heart attacks and cardiac arrests. Lastly, the cost of using animals in research is higher than using other alternatives, such as the Animal Humane Societies in vitro, which costs around $11,000 to conduct compared to the $32,000 is would cost to do an animal study. Overall the use of animals for research is harmful to the animals who don 't have aren 't protected as best as they can be and is more expensive than using alternative methods to conduct…

As said before, animals and humans have very different internal systems which means that some chemicals that would be harmful to animals could be perfectly fine to give to humans. An example of this is the drug aspirin. Aspirin is harmful to some animal species but alright to give to humans. Animal testing for medical purposes is pretty much worthless. Instead of wasting all the time…

There has been several tests that have gone wrong on humans but they when they tested the drug on the animal it went perfect. Élan Pharmaceuticals created a vaccine to fight Alzheimer, the vaccine worked perfect on mice, the vaccine cured the mice from Alzheimer. They used the same vaccine on humans but the results were different, their central nervous system inflamed (Alzheimer's Vaccine Trials Suspended). It is clear that testing drugs and substances on animals is not safe for humans. Another example to prove that animal testing is not a safe way to test drugs is the process of replacing hormones on women.…

Animals are there for people to enjoy and have fun with. They come in many different shapes, sizes, and types. Yet not all animals are not treated by the same standards as other animals. Animal testing is wrong because of the effects it has on the animals such as the harmful side effects, the reduction of life expectancy, and the lasting effects it has on the animal. Most of the time the test subjects are harmed in some way.…

Animals all over the globe are sitting in a cage right now, scared, cold and alone waiting for the next experiment to be done to them. They sit in this cage longing for the day that they are able to free, if they survive the experiments or if they are of no longer need to the scientists. Every year there are millions of animals killed in laboratories from the tests and experiments done to them. These poor, defenseless animals are poisoned, shocked, and burned during these tests and are often killed because of this. If these actions were done outside of a laboratory it would be considered animal abuse.…

There are many differences between humans and animals. Their cellular, anatomical, and metabolic differences, make the animals a bad test subject for testing drugs that humans are going to use. A Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at Aston University, Paul Furlong, stated, “...it’s very hard to create an animal model that even equates closely to what we’re trying to achieve in the human.” Another Professor, Thomas Hartung said, “We are not 70 kg rats.” From (https://www.crueltyfreeinternational.org), the article stated, “The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also often ineffective.…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…

Products that people use in everyday life, like makeup or a prescription from a doctor, were most likely tested on animals. Animal trials began around 150 years ago and considered to be ‘useful’ in scientific research. The use is for biology lessons, medical training, and drug, food, cosmetic, and chemical testing. Organizations keep trying to put an end to animal testing once and for all; some say it is unnecessary and inhumane. Scientists should not be testing on animals because animals are very different from human beings, a lot of animals are not protected by the Animal Welfare Act, and there are alternative testing methods.…

According to peta.org, more than 100 million animals are used in the US laboratories for medical research, biology classes, cosmetics testing, smoking experiments, and so on. In fact, many people consider using animals in scientific research as inhumane while others believe it’s totally acceptable to test on animals. Using animals in scientific research may seem to be cruel; however, the benefits scientists get from animal testing is totally worth the effort. Opponents of animal research claim that the data collected from animals are not reliable.…
