“What is Cloud Computing? According to www.webopedia.com this can be defined as an internet based model of computing, where the shared information, software and resources are provided to computers and other devices upon demand.” It is sold on the demand, typically by the minute or by the hour; it is elastic, a user can have as much or as little of a service as they want any given time, and the service is fully managed by the provider.
This type of technology is largely used by people on a regular basis, as it is free and is considered as a good development of technology. Hence, the confidentiality and security measures are less secured. As the term suggests cloud computing is accessible to anyone, and is not governed by a disciplined and severed security system. As a result of this problem, it makes the technology unreliable, and questions its validity at particular points. This is so, because people have free access to people’s work, hence, they have the opportunity of altering one’s work.
In cloud environments the data is not specifically segregated. It is distributed throughout the cloud network activity. Network failures can result in loss to the company by causing extensive time delays. The signal can be lost for several hours, thus inhibiting one from carrying out daily activities such as retrieving information from the cloud. This then can affect one’s functionality, especially if a business or organization is based on this particular type of technology.
