Thanksgiving For Dinner

Decent Essays
The smell in the kitchen, where all the aromas are coming into one. The turkey being cooked at 350 degrees, strawberries pies being made and the banana bread baked. The weather starting to cool down, you can feel it when you breathe out and see your breath in the air. Today is Thanksgiving; the whole family is getting ready for the dinner and the guest tonight. Basil of Baker Street will be coming today, the best well known detective around will be coming to dinner today.
The festive decoration was soon to be ready. Little turkeys in every corner of my house, fall mason jar centerpieces at the center of each room and lastly a Thanksgiving cornucopia silhouette in the center illuminated the house. Everything was coming together for tonight

The Christmas season was here. However, this Christmas was to be a Christmas unlike any other, not for any gift I received, but for the gift I gave.…

Christmas Day started out like all the others we have had in the past 5 years. Dillon and I had been on our own, since his oldest brother moved out, and went on to college several years earlier, and Jonathan, the middle son, had joined the Army the year prior. Robert and I just started dating in May of 2010, but he was with us on Christmas morning and my heart was so full, I thought it would surely burst. We opened our gifts, tearing the paper off, just like little children. Christmas is by far my favorite time of the year.…
