The Gottfredson and Saklofske was an interesting read. Intelligence is a difference factor that can be operationally defined and measured. However, I was shocked not to read anything about the Flynn Effect. I would expect for that to be mentioned somewhere in the article. Considering that intelligence is the most studied subject in psychology and it is likely the best understood construct. The article brought up and interesting and controversy topics such as the gap in race regarding scoring on intelligence testing. There is a stunning 10 point on the WISC-IV FSIQ between White and both African American and Hispanic.
Therefore, some people some people argue that unbiased tests are not necessarily fair tests. I definitely support this argument, but I wonder if its less about race and more about social economic class or test fairness. As we know people in a higher social economic class have more access to resources which includes education and as a result could be the rationale behind higher scores. Test fairness can

I think that we can all agree that almost any test can be made more useful, but as of right now test are very useful for the military because there are some jobs that require a certain level of intelligence. In my own personal opinion most, intelligence test I have come across have great face value and deemed to be very useful. When we talk about being useful we have to understand that we are not be talking about the test specifically such as the psychometrics but rather how the test can be applied. For example, if I wanted to check for dementia in a mature woman I would want to focus on the Wechsler Memory Scale, not the Hamilton Rating Scale for Depression. Therefore, the scores from the WMS would be useful in helping a clinician diagnose the mature
