Teen Suicide is a rising topic in today’s society. The problems that teenagers face are progressively getting harder as time passes. Dealing with the already present problems, teens now have to deal with negative attention from media and being looked down on by the public. Teenagers don’t get enough recognition for the things that occur and the things that done. With the rise of media teens have become exposed to all new kinds of negative materials. Over the years, the media has become harsher as new materials have emerged. Suicide has become a trend, and is fantasized by some teens. Suicide is becoming a topic that is carried on more casually, and not much attention is being brought to the subject. Teen Suicide is not being prevented well enough because schools don’t raise enough awareness, bullying that encourages suicide is not stopped, and many families don’t want to confront their child’s problems.
Teens spend a large amount of their time in schools. Teens are exposed to many negative elements. Things like temptation, bullying, excessive amounts of stress, etc. are presented to teens. During this, teens are vulnerable to being …show more content…
Suicidal teens don’t receive the care and support they may need because of their parent’s religious beliefs or personal morals. Leelah Alcorn, for example, was a transgender teen who killed herself after living for too long with no support from her family. After her death, her mother spoke out about her situation and her death. "We don't support that, religiously," Alcorn's mother told CNN,. "but we told him that we loved him unconditionally. We loved him no matter what. I loved my son. People need to know that I loved him. He was a good kid, a good boy." (Ashley Fantz, 1) Moderns methods of technology were created to help the problem, and it seems that some people don't understand that. It may even be viewed as
