Chelsea, cast member, has her two supportive parents backing her through everything. Especially her father. Her dad is always a call away or there to help with finances. Whether it is attorneys for custody battles, or paying for her esthetician schooling, he supports her just enough to help her get on her feet and is always her support system. “The National Campaign says that fewer than half ever graduate from high school, and only 2% earn college degrees by age 30” (Docksai, 2010). Out of the 4 girls, they are all pursuing or have degrees and all graduated from high school on time. Jenelle is currently in college, Leah is certified at a tanning salon, Chelsea has an esthetician license, and kaylenn is currently going back to finish college. From seeing shows like 16 and Pregnant and Teen Mom on MTV, it is not hard to see the truths of what some of these young ladies go through. There have been many teens on the show that have trouble with school or have had to drop out. A lot of them also face major money issues because they can not hold a job while raising their child. Teens are not thinking about the consequences they will encounter in the long run, and it is causing a huge dilemma, but these women have shown that it is not always that way.
Even though there are still troubles with teenage pregnancy, there are people out there who are putting forth an effort to help the social, and world wide problem. A great number of organizations are beginning to show up and attempt in helping these teens. Allowing tv and all the viewers into their crazy personal lives, shows courage and strength. I wish that one day I will be as good of a mother as those 4 ladies are. Even through the young age, hard
