I feel that this 2 phase simulation has definitely enhanced my personal skills within leadership and teamwork but I definitely feel this was not the result from the simulation alone. Since the team went for a more democratic style leadership, I was able to utilise 2 main management models I learnt about within this course one being the “Situational Leadership Model”. This was highlighted within my actions more so in the second simulation rather than the first and it defined my position within the team which depended on how each member would respond to situations along the simulation. Due to my personal motivation within the second simulation, I was always looking for opportunities in which I could further progress both my goals and my team members goals at the same time thus having the path-goal theory representing my role within the team. Since the team was really motivated to do well in the second simulation after our poor performance in simulation 1, I could agree that the group was at the fourth stage of readiness where a majority did the best they could in attempt to improve our results and we viewed each other’s inputs equal to any other team member.…
