I. Introduction and Purpose

1. The purpose of the Team Charter is to define the team processes of ENGSCI Studio 009 Team 12 for the duration of Design Project 3. The Team Charter also sets the expectations for these team processes and the procedures to address team conflicts.

2. Design Project 3 is a multi-discipline engineering design project which was commission by the University of Western Ontario. Design Project 3 will run from January 9, 2018 to April 9, 2018.

3. ENGSCI Studio 009 Team 12 currently consists of five (5) members: Muhammad Ali, Kristoffer Mailloux, Moamen Mohamed, Niall Murphy and James Pardy. ENGSCI Studio 009 Team 12 was randomly-formed on September 12, 2017.

Team Objectives

1. Deliver an optimally engineered, innovative solution for the design goal given by the Project.

2. Continue developing the teamwork and technical communication skills of all Team Members, in addition to inter-team relationships.

3. Come first place in the Design Showcase on March 29, 2018.

IV. Team Member Skill Inventory

1. Developed Skill(s): Research, Physiology, Industry Analysis, Statistical Analysis, Financial Analysis, Graphic Design, Sketching, CAD Modelling, Prototyping, Construction, Circuitry, Programming, Technical Communication (Oral and Written), Microsoft Office.

V. Role Identification

There will be six (6) official roles. Team Members are not expected to change roles, however, Team Members may request to be reassigned to a different role. Team Members can take on more than one (1) role. Multiple Team Members may take on one (1) role. Roles were selected during the January 9, 2018 Team meeting after discussion with all Team Members.

2. The External Communications Coordinator will:

a) Communicate with external organizations about matters related to the design process.
b) Communicate with the Studio Instructor and Course Coordinator about official Team matters.

Niall Murphy will be the External Communications Coordinator.

3. The Research Coordinator will:

a) Review and assess quality of presented external documents to ensure they meet the CRAAP criteria.
b) Lead research efforts and provide tasks for research objectives.
c) Provide the Resource Coordinator with the qualifying external documents and how they were accessed.

James Pardy and Moamen Mohamed will be the Research Coordinators.
4. The Illustration Coordinator will:

a) Document the progression of the design through sketches, detailed drawings and/or CAD models.
b) Create visuals designs to aid in design communication.

Kristoffer Mailloux will be the Illustration Coordinator

5. The Construction Coordinator will:

a) Lead construction of prototype(s) and testing.
b) Develop additional design constraints and ensure the prototype meets all constraints.
c) Communicate with the Resource Coordinator about material requirements and their corresponding
