Chapter three talks about social context for learning, information processing and interactive writing. All of these approaches are easily observed in the video clips, too. It is generally thought that writing is an activity, which is conducted individually, often with feedback provided by a teacher and/or a classmate. The videos and reading clearly demonstrate the advantages of collaborative writing. It provides learners with opportunities to learn and advance their writing skills through a discussion of the language they are using. By collaborating and following the guide of the teacher, students improve their language skills and advance far more than if they did with their own pen and …show more content…
It also supports strong writing and reading connections. Therefore, I am convinced that I will apply this method to my own future teaching. I will make sure to use some of the strategies and/or instruction which were involved in the teaching process shown in the video clips. For example, I will remind my students to have a finger space between words, use a pointer while pointing at the words and reading a text, put a period on the bottom, not the top of the sentence and encourage students to sound out letters and/or words before writing them
