Plain and simple, giving the church tax exemption status is a violation of the first amendment of the constitution of the united states. When the state sides with religion, and gives religious organizations tax-exempt status, this shows the side that the state sides with and states show financial benefit. Tax exemption is a privilege, not a right. Not one place in the united states constitution does it state that they are entitled to the right of being tax exempted. Also, using your religious right to expression to gain monetary gain is flat out wrong, and immoral. The very people who preach about morals and values, evidently lack both.
