The Southeast team setting is Tampa General Hospital (TGH) located in Tampa Florida and is the only level trauma center for the region. This acute care facility is private not-for-profit hospital and is one of four comprehensive medical facilities in West Central Florida. TGH admissions in the most recent year reported forty thousand five hundred and twenty two admissions. The South East group chose TGH to teach the staff on the importance of Healthcare Providers and Systems scores (HCAHPS). The philosophy of TGH or any hospital system is a narrative statement of the values or beliefs of the facility. The vested partners in the education and administration of TGH must be involved in the strategic planning of this new curriculum. The discussion point for this new curriculum is assure that an alignment and congruence are present by development of two strategies that can be used to meet the goals of TGH HCAHPS scores improvement.
Strategies to show Achieve Alignment and Congruence
The mission of Tampa General Hospital is committed to serving all residents of West Central Florida. The care with TGH is a patient centered approach and the services delivered in an exceptional manner, with benchmark performance in clinical outcomes, care processes and cost effectiveness and patient care experience. The main goal that has been determined is through the HCAHPS scores will improve in all areas of direct patient care.
The first strategy is involvement of the nursing staff communication improvement of present curriculum HCAHPS. The process and results via communication skills, pain management, medication which is the bench marks for alignment and congruence for the low score improvement for HCAHPS scores for
