Tactile And Auditory Analysis

The author uses tactile and auditory imagery to show the reader how preparation enables overall success. David’s body “hit the ground with a sickening thud” shows the reader the physical torment that he went through. The hard hit that David withstood didn’t slow him down. David quickly regrouped himself with no act of hesitation. This was due to the amount of preparation that he was put through by his coaching staff. All of the hard work that him and his teammates went through in the summer helped him to maintain playing at his high level. Later in the text the author includes, “Thats it fight the pressure. Don’t let him set the pace.” David goes back to his coaches familiar saying helping him maintain his focus. David was able to turn around
