The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins is a modern piece of literature that could be categorised as a science-fiction trilogy set in a futuristic dystopian society. The protagonist of the series is Katniss Everdeen; a controversial female character that we can link to Theseus and even other mythological figures. Although these stories are of very different genres and natures in terms of time and location, it is evident through analysis that major parallels can be drawn between the two. Thus leading to my research question, to what extent do the characters and social hierarchy of Theseus and the Minotaur influence the Hunger
