Pink Floyd feels nostalgia, but doesn't want to express this reminiscing and longing feeling, which is very personal, to anyone but himself, reflecting on his own. His Intrapersonal Communication required him to be consumed in his own thoughts. He doesn't share or need anyone as the flow of information is internal. Only through writing, which is still indirectly communicating, was he able to finally let out his feelings without having to talk directly to anyone. He still carries the burden of the wall as he takes it with him wherever he is as he hides himself from others, maintaining this separation from the world he is so angry at. He makes himself invincible as he feels the need to clarify his own thoughts to himself. The wall leaves him this remembrance he wants to hold on to, each brick symbolizing different events in his life.
