To most, someone that is homeless is considered to be someone that has no
ambition to do anything with their lives or any desire to have any material objects in life
(Christian, 2015). People also believe that the homeless have had many opportunities
in life to go out and get a job, but they choose not to. Even if the opportunities weren't
handed to them, they could go out and get a job as easily as anyone else. Some people

When someone walking down the
street sees another person sitting on the street with nothing around them and dirt and
dust all over them, they automatically assume that they are homeless because they look
dirty. Although that person could just be working. If you put the two symbols (dirty, and
tattered clothing) together, it would lead people to believe that the person on the street
is homeless simply because the way they look (Snow and Anderson, 1987).
With people judging the homeless, it makes it hard for them to want to go out and
find a job to get out of the predicament that they are in and causes them to have very
low self worth (Snow and Anderson, 1987). With homeless people being looked down
upon, and being judged, it makes them believe what people already think is true about
them is true, which also might lead to them not wanting to change how they live,
because if people make them feel like they aren’t worth anything, they will believe it
themselves, and not want to change because they might think there is no point.

biggest group of the homeless after the great depression. But, recently it has changed
that the largest group of homeless people consists of women, and families, even
children. This is due to not enough housing where some people live, and also the fact
that they probably just cant afford to own, or even rent a place of their own to live,
