Walgreens is the second-largest retail pharmacy chain in the United States. We provide services ranging from prescription medications, health and wellness products, beauty products and photo services. Our mission is to be America’s most-loved pharmacy-led health and well-being. Our purpose is to champion everyone’s right to be healthy and happy. Our major competitors are Wal-Mart, CVS Pharmacy, and Rite-Aid Pharmacy. To set us apart from our competitors and achieve our mission and purpose, Walgreens focus in three core strategies to service our customers by offer ultimate convenience, earn customer loyalty, and delivery extraordinary customer and patient care (About Walgreens, n.d.). Walgreens communicate to their customers through various medium such as mobile application, mailers, commercials, and e-mail subscriptions. In addition, we hold many health fair events throughout the community to promote health awareness. Through community outreach, it provides us opportunities to further reach out to the community at personal level. Lastly, through other programs such as Senior Discount Day, Red Nose Day, Diabetes Awareness Month, and HIV Awareness, it encourage our customers and potential customers to visit our store and experience our services. Our employees receive communications from the corporate daily through emails and web-communications. In addition, employees are required to complete computer training for new programs or initiatives to ensure proper knowledge. However, if I am the CEO or the organization, there are several things I would do differently to further set us apart from our competitors. First of all, in order for our business to prosper, I would invest in the well-being of our employees. One of the core values for our company is to deliver extraordinary customer and patient care. By requiring employees to build better customer’s experience while cutting the store’s budgets, it will unmotivated. For instance, every employee has his or her own daily tasks that are required to complete. As a result of budget cut, he or she will have to complete more tasks while attending to the customers. This will result in less customer service time and will lead to low customer satisfaction. In contrary, by treating your employees will, it will motivate them to do better, provide better services to their customers, which will lead to high customer satisfactory and build employee loyalty.
