This tells me that even after the disaster and the difficulties they faced moving on, people realized that they couldn't just sit there and complain. If they wanted something done, they had to work for it and rebuild their lives. The storm affected them because the people in the town had to learn that things like this would happen, but the important part is getting up and moving on. A similar way the people persevered was that they helped each other. The author illustrates this when they boost people's courage. The text communicates the idea of the students helping when it says,“‘'But the fact is, it’s the students who are giving us hope and strength to move on.’” This assists me to realize that everyone was affected and wanted to be an aid to each other.
