The young group of children consisted of ninety nine students from an elementary school which averaged approximately eight years of age. The older group of children also from an elementary school consisted of only seventy one students with an average age of eleven. The children were randomly assigned to the three groups of Survival, Moving, and Pleasantness. The same list of DRM words were used, but these words were displayed for six seconds. The children had to rate the words just as the adults did, but on a smiley face scale. The smaller the smiley, the less relevant, the larger the smiley, the more relevant the word is. The children played Tetris for two minutes as a distracter and were asked to list all of the words they could remember
