Surface Warfare Officer Research Paper

Becoming a Surface Warfare Officer would place me in a position that would challenge me and utilize my leadership skills at all times. A Surface Warfare Officer is responsible for three hundred plus lives and millions of dollars between their team of sailors and the equipment aboard their fleet. I am ready to accept the challenge. As a leader, my goal would not only be to motivate myself through everyday tasks, but also to motivate others around me to excel exponentially in their work and personal lives.
Throughout my high school career, I learned that I am a born leader. My peers and adult acquaintances not only respect me, but they also trust me to accomplish my tasks and help others accomplish theirs. I am involved in many activities throughout my school. I am part of the dance team, talented theatre, Thespian Society, National Honors Society, Beta Club, Freshmen Advisory Mentors Club, Interact Club, and Future Business Leaders of America. Since I enjoy pursuing activities that require me to utilize numerous aspects of my abilities, becoming a Surface Warfare officer would continue my avid interests. Being unrestricted officers; meaning, they have access to shore and sea duty. Location is, therefore, varied. Surface Warfare officers also have the ability to be assigned to any and all ships in any battle group; which, continues the various location ability aspect. Ships these officers work on can be from patrol crafts to cruisers. Due to the multiple location components, Surface Warfare Officers must be able to be assigned a number of tasks; from driving the ship to problem-solving. Gaining various forms of training within multiple divisions creates an array of what any Surface Warfare officer is able to
