1.Define: “development model” Supervisory skills are developed over time. The development model increase their hours for supervisor training. The development model also assist trainees in becoming effective, at rendering therapy. Workshops provide information. Individuals working as clinical psychology had a limited amount of resources. However, qualified personnel’s can attend continuing professional development workshops. The development model requires qualified personnel’s to attend training and workshops. The supervisor need to attend workshops in order to supervise others. Supervisor are mandated to take specific workshops, and to be sure the workshop is approved. For example, teaching a trainee what signs to look for when treating clients. The generic model is counseling and teaching at the same time. Generic module consist if instructions in addition to consultation. “Supervision as instruction is most applicable to training in specific techniques. Training is considered as skill-building for which the following relationship analogy applies supervisor counselor. Supervisor training is now at an advance stage, in the beginning, clinical psychologist training was in its beginning stage. As the years changed, so has the development for supervision training. “The models of supervision having the greatest impact lately have focused on developmental aspects of the training process” (Journal of Counseling and Development).
In the development process additional training was added, like advanced training and supervision of their supervisory practice. As major development continue to change we can expect more supervisory workshops, observation, and training. “In the early stages of the growth of clinical supervision as a scholarly and empirical literature, training and supervision models were focused primarily on applying techniques and processes from the focal model of counseling to the process of supervision” (Journal of Counseling and Development).
Things have changed to ensure therapist are well trained. We can also look forward to advance supervisor training, the relationship between model specific requirement and those for more generic training (Fleming & Steen, 2012, p.95).
