Superbowl Advertisements Analysis

This year’s Superbowl commercial ads were very socially spoken, from beer products supporting immigration rights to car commercials promoting their eco safe car. The one commercial that stood out to me the most was the Audi #DriveProgress ad. The commercial starts with little girl competing in her hometown’s downhill race car derby. As the scene plays out, we hear her father’s voice asking provocative questions. We see her defending all the boys in the race, while the background orchestra gets louder, her father asks, “ What do I tell my daughter? That her grandpa is worth more than her grandma? That her dad is worth more than her mom? Do I tell her despite her education, her drive, her skills, her intelligence, she won’t automatically be valued as less than by every man she meets? …show more content…
Or maybe I’ll be able to tell her something different.” The commercial ends with a cut to a black screen and text on the screen appears that say, “Audi America is committed to equal pay for equal work. Progress is for everyone.” Audi’s clear and undeniable main message of the commercial supports the idea that everyone, despite their gender, should be treated and paid exactly the same for their work. The main reason I chose this ad is for it’s powerful message of equality. Surprisingly in this day and age, some people do not see the need for equality. This ad was so perfectly placed in a time where our president has bragged about sexual assault during his campaign running, it is quite disturbing to say the least. The commercial appeals to the whole general public, females, males, fathers, daughters, brothers, and sisters, everyone is affected by sexism. Audi is a known as a high class luxury vehicle; this commercial does a good job of clearing the customers conscious in buying a product from a company with high morals. With Audi superior reputation and respected company with strong ethics, this commercial works in favorite of obtaining more customers who can afford their product and agree with their values. This ad does smart job of including an emotion aspect in this commercial. It puts us in the shoes of a father raising a daughter to be fearless and strong despite all the criticism of others saying she is anything less than based on her gender. The battle for equality is very evident to the females who are directly affected, but the battle isn’t fought by females only; it is fought with fathers, brothers, sons, allies, and any human being that believe in the rights for all. The commercial was beautifully timed after the mass worldwide women’s march protest, a protest specifically scheduled the day after the inauguration of Donald Trump. President Trump has demonstrated time and time again what he really thinks about women’s worth. From the time openly admitted to sexual assault to that in during the Presidential candidate debate when he called Secretary Hillary Clinton a “nasty women,” we sadly live in a time where the most respected position in the United States is not a great example for children and young adults to look up to. Commerical like this one, does a

Of all the 2016 Super Bowl commercials, the commercial I have concluded the most effective is the Hyundai commercial with Kevin Hart. However, effective is a subjective word in this case, but the criteria used in my perspective of it is that the commercial created a connection with the viewer, was able to be memorable, and set itself apart as more than “just a product”. Through a mix of storytelling, playfulness, and outrageous acts; Hyundai was able to achieve and surpass those criteria. The first thing that many people, from peers to big companies, pointed out about the Hyundai commercial was Kevin Hart. Hart is an extremely recognizable star for his hilarious comedy and his playful personality.…

Super Bowl advertisements are famous for their elaborate productions and are often are more talked about than the event itself. These commercials have become cultural touchstones, but the advertisements have one job and that is to convince a potential customer to buy or use a company’s product or service. The Weight Watchers advertisement is a perfect example of how effective advertisements can be in only a few short seconds. What this commercial is really selling underneath its veneer of supposed helpfulness is emotional manipulation as it preys on people’s insecurities regarding their weight and shame them for eating food that may not be considered healthy. The primary audience for this kind of ad are people who emotionally vulnerable and…

This year the the super bowl commercials I thought were very unique and different than previous years. For example, in the past years most commercials were very American oriented with a lot of classic american images being broadcasted. This year commercials ranged from being very American to unique and different. In a very broad sense, the target audience was 25-35 year old men and families throughout America. The commercials were a lot for beer, insurance, skittles and food/drinks which are all messages for a that specific group of people watching the superbowl.…

Many of today’s advertisements in America are trying to sell power to the consumers. With the goal to make profit and have consumers fall in love with products and services, advertisers make sure that they can persuade buyers to purchase their products. Numerous advertisements emphasize the importance of aristocracy and upper social class in their advertisements to stress the necessity of power to stand above the high social standards rather than the luxury of power that does not push many to have. In an advertisement by Audi, it creates a sense of power and superiority with the elegant model, the Boston Terrier dog, the clean and structured architecture, and the noticeable Audi Q7 vehicle. The ad’s campaign also represents an American craving…

I have never heard of anyone that enjoys watching boring commercials, like a commercial introducing a medicine with numerous side effects. I find Super Bowl commercials humorous and extremely entertaining. During class all of my peers made sales commercial's and presented them, some were worth watching and others were not.…
