The Han Dynasty lasted from 206 BCE - 220 CE, which was one of China’s longest dynasties. This civilization did finally collapse, as most societies do if they do not have all the aspects of PERSIA in line. However, this civilization was a very good and inspiring example of a thriving united empire and self-sustaining government. But that may not have been enough to keep the existence of this civilization.…
I found this Yakudoshi party fun and very informative celebration (not to mention the great meal my wife and I had). I had an idea of the different types or the variety of food the Japanese culture has to offer, however, I think the most valuable lessons here were learning about the culture. I was fortunate enough to hear how the older generation and the younger generation view the practice of Yakudoshi, compare their views on food, hear and learn about some Japanese etiquettes (especially in the use of chopsticks as I described it in the discussion experience below), and hear their views on interracial marriage. Although the young Japanese couple had a hard time convincing their children to consume some of their meal, watching the young…

The Mongols ruled China starting from the Yuan Dynasty(1278-1368). The Yuan altered the way the Chinese tolerated some new additions that the Yuan enforced in the country, the Yuan also increased China’s economic trading efficiency, and continued to allow Chinese politics to run. The Yuan allowed the Chinese to run local and regional government positions. The Yuan knew that the native people knew how to control the government. Secondly, the Yaun used scholars from the same society to record what was to come in the future.…

Mao tse-tung brought the communist revolution to China and gained political though the barrel of a gun. The Chinese system he overthrew nearly 50 years ago was backwards and corrupt. Suspected enemies of the party were murdered by the millions, farming collectives and the Great Leap Forwards of industrialization that failed miserably and left millions more died from starvation.…
For years other nations have always used earlier or more successful nations as reference in building their empire. One notices that Egypt is a common reference. Egypt, once very prosperous, experienced many rises and falls of power. Each fall and rise was typically due to an awful king, war, or chaos: and sometimes it was a product of all three. Egypt excelled in most things to build a powerful empire; government, trading, leadership and a strong sense of religion (or belief in gods).…
Children are a valuable tool in building and strengthening empires. If you can teach a child your history and have them grow to respect it, they will optimistically fight for it and be united by it. Arguably the success or failure of a nation depends largely on how that nation deals with both its internal and external conflict. Focusing on these two premises, those who study history can evaluate cultures best on how they promoted culture and how the state dealt and interacted with outsider and minority populations. In this essay, we will compare and contrast these themes among the early Islamic Empire and the Qing Dynasty.…
The Han Dynasty was established in 202 B.C. and lasted until A.D. 220. It was one of the longest lasting Chinese dynasties, the population tripled, and China’s borders were greatly expanded. Because of this, it is considered the “Golden Age” of China’s history. The first ruler discarded most of the harsh Qin policies, but kept the law that states rulers were chosen based on merit, and not on birth.…
