I was surprised that there were so many garbage bins of food. One garbage bin filled with food is probably more than thirty dollars. Most of the foods I saw in the trash cans were fresh and could still be eaten.
I think Walmart was throwing out food because it wasn't selling. Most of the food in the trash cans were the same things. Walmart still could've given it to a charity, because they wouldn't have gotten any money anyways.
Usually, when food is about to expire, they put it on a sale. I would buy food that would expire in a day if it was on sale and I knew that I could eat it.
In my opinion, if somebody doesn't want food that's almost expired, they should be able to give it to the poor without being judged.
