Ashley’s Pharmacy My one goal is to open a Discount pharmacy. I know there are a lot of them right? But mine will be different. I want to focus on providing low income customers with lifesaving medications that the desperately need. Our advertising strategy will target the over-55 crowd and all low income families, it will also be targeted at those who are looking to save money on high priced medications that are necessary but at a cheaper cost. I plan to pay for the startup cost with my inheritance of $400,000.00. This will give me the ability to start my business that will open December 2016 at 1859 Watson Blvd Warner Robins GA. Our Mission is to provide our customers with the best prices for their prescription medications. Our convenience and services will exceed the expectations of our customers.

We will be able to sell prescriptions at reduced prices by carefully maintaining a Secured safe environment with security and also buy selling basic well need items that people would pick up at another pharmacy such as feminine hygiene products, diapering products, general over the counter medications, first aid supplies, oral care items, vitamins, and many more products.

The Discount Pharmacy will operate from one store that will serve both mail order customers and those who visit in person. We will thrive by employing friendly and knowledgeable personnel, which, along with our great prices, will drive the repeat business that we will rely upon. We only expect that as the price of medication continues to skyrocket, The Discount Pharmacy will appeal more and more to the customer's sense of value and

Each day as I filled prescriptions, I realized that the majority of the ones I filled to my amazement were covered under the free prescription program. I found it very intriguing that in today’s society there aren’t many things that are provided absolutely free especially a billion dollar company. One of the main hindrances of ensuring a patient takes a prescription sometimes is the fact that some may not have the money to cover the cost. By offering free common used prescriptions, it showed me that Publix truly cares about ensuring the patients overall health comes…

The company that I chose to complete my research paper on, is CVS. In the last few years, CVS has made a mark across the country with their strategic plans and combining forces with Target and several health care providers. A strategic alliance exists whenever two or more independent organizations cooperate in the development, manufacture, or sale of products and services (Barnes, p. 248). The strategic alliances that they have made will allow them to share resources and benefit from one another’s business. The goal that CVS and other care providers are working towards is beneficiaries to have better decisions on or prescriptions and plans.…

On behalf of our member companies, the National Association of Chain Drug Stores (NACDS) writes to request a meeting to discuss the importance of fair and accurate reimbursement for community pharmacies for specialty drugs. As we previously noted, addressing both the cost of the drug product and the cost of dispensing is critical to maintaining patient access to Medicaid pharmacy services, especially when considering the increasing cost of providing specialty drugs and services to the Medicaid population. We are requesting this meeting to speak to you to discuss possible options for CMS to provide further direction and/or guidance to the states in this policy area. We believe that if adequate direction and/or guidance is not provided, states will adopt insufficient reimbursement rates and dispensing fees for specialty drugs resulting in below-cost reimbursement for participation pharmacies.…
