The amount of sugar consumed impacts our health and brings the risk of diseases. Sarah Richards, the author of “The Bitter Truth about Sugar and Its Effects on Our Health”, is more effective in persuading the audience to consider the factors of health. This is more effective because it should effect the audience enough to consider changing their diet. For the abundance of sugar that we as humans consume, health issues certainly find their way to impact us. I believe that with the amount of sugar consumed, people don't realize how it impacts the factors of health as well. In the Journal of American Heart Association Internal Medicine study, “people who consume more than a quarter of their daily calories and sugar were more than twice as likely to die…”, people who consume more than a quarter of their daily calories and sugar were more than twice as likely to die…”, which is fearful to hear. I can infer that the article isn't intending to scare the audience, but more to inform them on what can happen to their health. When talking about health, comes the risk of diseases. In the article, there aren’t personal stories or thoughts that she’s encountered issues or anything of that sort with sugars. From the article “Is Sugar Bad? Why I Say NO!” by Robin Konie, she talks and shares personal stories about how sugar can be good for you—natural sugars. Konie states that “if you cut out all sugars, your body would soon begin to fail. Your brain especially relies on sugar…If you don’t have sugar in your bloodstream, you can become confused, forgetful, or even lapse into a coma.” There were reliable facts in Richards’ article, but not any to persuade the audience on what happens when sugar is completely cut out of the body, making her argument hard to
