Sasha is a 19-year-old girl grieving the recent passing of her father, Eli, and coasting through life without any real goals or long-term plans for life. Until Oswald-the starving art student- steps in. Taking immediate interest in her Oswald asks Sasha out at their first encounter. Sasha thinks he is fickle and doesn’t trust him enough to go out with him. He keeps insisting though, and finally she agrees to go out with him, but only if he is able to learn to ride a longboard. He succeeds, with her help, and she agrees to have lunch with him.
At lunch, she reveals her grief from her father’s passing, and the regret that she hadn’t gotten to know him better while he was alive. Oswald asks if he had left any significant memorabilia around. Sasha tells him of the boxes of old pictures her father left behind. Oswald excitedly suggests that they go to the places in the old pictures. He insists that it will help her get to know her father better. It takes some convincing, but Sasha finally agrees to do it.
Sasha calls her mom to ask her for the photographs. At first her mom is confused and thinks it’s a weird idea, but Sasha is able to talk her around. She goes home to get the pictures that weekend and has a good conversation with her mom about their feelings of Eli’s passing. She understands more about her mom and herself.

Oswald is thrilled by their discoveries and is surprised to find that Sasha seems to not be enjoying it as much as she was at
