A common theme in both texts is that curiosity can be both a blessing and a curse. In “All Summer in a Day” the children eagerly want to see the sun. After 7 years without a single ray of sunshine, they are willing to do just about anything to get a glimpse of it. After Pandora opens this box, she releases all the world’s evils. “But it was too late… and the evil spirits flew off to attack the rest of mankind.” This quote shows that this story affects every single person in the world. In contrast to “All Summer in a Day,” only the children and Margot are affected, but in “Pandora’s Box” the whole world is affected.
