E. This book has a variety of different settings including the castle in which Will and Horace grew up in. Will and his master are constantly traveling but where the key scene takes place is in The Ruins of Gorlan where they battle two Wargals.
F. The books theme is that although we may not feel like we fit in that we all have a calling for us. Although Will thinks he doesn't fit any specific job, he soon realized what his true passion is. Another theme is determination and hard work leads to great opportunities.

The protagonist in this particular novel does happen to undergo a change, but the boy who starts off as an antagonist, Horace, transforms even more. Both boys grew up within the castle and throughout their childhood, Horace bullied and harassed Will. Being that Will was much weaker (both physically and emotionally) all retaliations just led to greater conflict. When Horace is placed into battle school, he gets bullied by a few of his peers. Through this horrifying experience, Horace realizes the effects he may have had on Will because of his own personal feelings. In the end, Horace makes up with Will and they became very good friends after Will personally comes to the rescue while Horace is being physically
