In “Everything, Everything” by Nicola Yoon, Maddy faces a conflict on which she is to sick to go outside. Maddy explains to the reader that she can’t leave “My disease is rare...I’m allergic to the outside world...I don’t leave my house, have not left my house in seventeen years” (Yoon 3). This is an enormous problem because Maddy does not get to experience anything, it is almost like she is a fish stuck in a fishbowl. She can not go outdoors, on vacation, to school, or even just take a quick trip to the supermarket. Having this problem makes Maddy feel alone, until, she meets a boy. Maddy has not been able to do anything her whole life except read, write, and watch movies. Finally she meets a boy; however, she can not do anything with this
