For instance, in the chapter, a therapist creates a vest to help an infant to be able to sit upright to play with his toys. Before the vest was made he was unhappy because he could not play with his toys in the laying down position. In this scenario, the therapist changed the infants “being” and help him “become” a happier baby by creating a vest that increased his occupational performance. Both functional outcomes and quality of life issues can be encompassed with the neuro-occupational framework. The neuro-occupation framework can be used to get the individual’s perspective on his/her situation (Earley, 2003, p.34).
