In his article, The Wretched of the Earth, Fanon tells a story about a police inspector who beats his family. Fanon heard this story while he was working at the government hospital in Algeria. This man that came to visit him wanted to be cured. The man would go to work, and see horrific and cruel sights, that no human can deal with easily. Fanon tries to help this man, because he is violent and dominating his own family. “Ill teach her once and for all that I’m master in this house” (Fanon, 352). Fanon shared this story to help people become aware of how the government of Algeria is turning people. This man sees people getting beaten up or dead people every day, and therefore he feels that he needs to do the same to show his power. Fanon is opposed to an empire because he feels that it drags everyone
