Foreshadow - be a warning or indication of a future events. Ichabod sat in a room in the home of Katrina, he looked about his eyes filled with wonder and he envied all the little things about their way of life. He wanted to be rich, so he was determent to win Katrina’s heart. There was another man though that was very in love with Katrina, you could say he was the jock of the town. He was a very mystifies man always causing trouble, if there was a prank he would be the one behind it all. Ichabod is very superstitious and believes in all the ghost story’s he is told, for that he is really scared of riding alone at night so he sings to himself. He gets so excited he rushes his class and they get out an hour before that normal time. Ichabod borrows a ugly, beat up horse to go to the party, as he gets ready he looks at himself in a cracked mirror. For teachers did not get paid so much and really didn’t have that much money at all. He arrives to the party and everyone is having a great time, he spots his lady Katrina. He approaches her and asks her to dance and with delight she does. From back of the room Brom noticed Ichabod approached his sweet Katrina, he then feels anger and jealousy for he can not dance and wishes he could. Ichabod and Katrina begin to dance and for a moment everything seems to be going great for Katrina is laughing and smiling. Ichabod feels like he won like he finally got the girl he wanted. As the danced ended some of the folks of the town gathered in the back room to tell tales of ghost from the women in the white dressed that died in the white freezing snow, to the head less horse men.
