At first, Anne’s diary is filled with entries about school, friends, jokes and boys, which are typical topics of young adolescents. Anne is always interested in boys and boyfriends. Anne writes, “I witnessed a terrific air battle between German and British Planes.” Anne is scared so she begins to write to relieve her stress. She talks about all events that happen in the war, big victories and problems going on in the outside world. Anne is really db vepressed. She states, “The atmosphere is so oppressive, and sleepy and as heavy as lead.” Anne’s life is very boring, filled with problems and fears. She tries new writing styles to cope with all of her problems. Anne constantly writes about sad and dreary things. She does this to get all of her feelings out. Anne writes,“Oh, so many things bubble up inside me as I lie in bed, having to put up with people I’m fed up with, who always misinterpret my intentions. That’s why in the end, I always come back to my diary.
